Pakistan Shaheens defeated India A by 8 –wickets in the sixth match of the Rising Stars Asia Cup.
Playing in Doha, Qatar, Pakistan Shaheens chased down India’s target of 137 runs with ease, reaching it in the 14th over for the loss of only two wickets.
Pakistan’s opener Maaz Sadaqat played a brilliant innings of 79 runs, playing an aggressive brand of cricket from the very start. He dominated the Indian bowlers, smashing 4 sixes and 7 fours around the ground and playing the key role in Pakistan’s victory.
Muhammad Naeem scored 14, Yasir Khan made 11, while Muhammad Faeeq remained unbeaten on 16.
Indian bowlers Suyash Sharma and Yash Thakur picked up one wicket each.
Earlier, India A was bowled out for 136 on the last ball of the 19th over, failing to bat out their full 20 overs. Vaibhav Suryavanshi top-scored with a quickfire 45 off 28 balls, while Naman Dheer contributed 35. The rest of the batting lineup failed to deliver.
For Pakistan, Shahid Aziz produced an excellent bowling spell, taking three wickets for just 24 runs. Maaz Sadaqat and Saad Masood picked up two wickets each, while Sufyan Muqeem, Ahmed Daniyal and Ubaid Shah claimed one apiece.
Notably, just like India’s senior men’s team, the emerging players also brought politics into sport when the Indian captain refused to shake hands with the Pakistani captain at the toss.
