In the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, a cruel daughter-in-law set her 66-year-old mother-in-law on fire by pouring petrol, resulting in the death of Jenti Kankmahalakshmi.
Jenti Kankmahalakshmi was living with her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren in their Varshini apartment in Apnanapalm. Yesterday, when her son left for the office, suddenly a fire broke out in their flat, which burned the elderly woman to death.
Upon receiving information, the police arrived at the flat. The deceased’s daughter-in-law, Lata, told the police that the fire was caused by a short circuit near the TV, but the police expressed suspicion about the way the burning occurred. During the investigation, when no evidence of a short circuit was found, the police pressed Lata, and she confessed that she had killed her mother-in-law.
She stated that she tied her mother-in-law’s hands and feet, blindfolded her, then poured petrol and set her on fire, turning the TV volume up so that Lakshmi’s screams could not be heard.
The police have registered a murder case against the daughter-in-law and taken her into custody, and the investigation is ongoing. Locals and neighbors are in deep shock after hearing about this heart-wrenching incident. This incident once again highlights the value of human life and the importance of safety within the home.
