Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar stated that after the 27th constitutional amendment draft is approved by the federal cabinet, the draft will be referred to the Joint Standing Committee on Law and Justice.
According to details, after briefing the federal cabinet on the 27th constitutional amendment and getting approval for the draft, the Law Minister, while talking to the media, said that Parliament will pass a bill on the establishment of the Constitutional Court. The government will cooperate with allied parties for the approval of the bill.
During the conversation, Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar stated that there is a consensus on the establishment of the Constitutional Court. There is a proposal to hand over the transfer of judges to the Judicial Commission. The strategy of the “war” has now changed. We have learned many lessons in the past regarding Article 243.
The Federal Law Minister said that the proposal was given for Senate elections across the country at the same time, while the election of the Senate Chairman and Deputy Chairman after every three years is also a constitutional requirement. Some positions that were in the Army Act were not mentioned in the Constitution. The position of Field Marshal is also not mentioned in the Constitution.
The Law Minister stated that if the 27th constitutional amendment is passed with a two-thirds majority, it will become part of the Constitution. Previously, permission was given for 5 advisers; now there is a proposal to make it 7. Political stability and harmony are a major need of the country. The government is going to present the 27th amendment bill in the Senate.
