Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that production-based economic growth is the only way forward, and Pakistan’s economy is moving in the right direction — something acknowledged by international rating agencies.
According to details, speaking at the ninth edition of “The Future Summit” held in Karachi, the finance minister said that tariff regimes are being increasingly focused on around the world, and Pakistan must be turned into an export hub.
During his address, the finance minister said that global rating agencies have acknowledged Pakistan’s economic improvement. Many countries are introducing reforms in their economic systems, and the global economy is moving toward improvement. He emphasized that the private sector plays a very important role in the economy.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said that economic stability is only possible through the promotion of exports and investment. The government’s role is to provide an ecosystem, while the private sector will lead the economy. He added that macroeconomic stability is not our ultimate goal, but a means to build confidence in investment.
Muhammad Aurangzeb said that a large number of foreign companies have termed Pakistan a good place for business and investment. He said that new sectors need to be focused on for economic growth, and that digitization will bring further improvement in the economy.
