The Federal Board of Revenue has extended the deadline for filing income tax returns until November 30.
The extension aims to facilitate taxpayers submitting returns manually, with special help desks established at tax offices across the country to assist them.
The initiative is also intended to encourage a transition toward online return filing in the future.
To promote digital filing, the FBR has announced special facilities for manual income tax filers. As part of its ongoing efforts to fully digitize Pakistan’s tax system, the FBR has decided to phase out manual filing of income tax returns starting from the tax year 2024.
However, recognizing the challenges faced by taxpayers transitioning to the online system, the FBR has decided to offer temporary assistance. For this purpose, special cells have been set up at all regional tax offices to provide legal and technical support to those filing manually.
