Sindh Minister for Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced that the provincial government will soon launch the second phase of the Pink Scooty Scheme to empower women and ease their daily commuting challenges.
In an official statement, the senior provincial minister said that the Transport Department is providing women with free training and driving licenses. The initiative aims to help female students and working women overcome transportation difficulties and travel safely and independently.
He urged women to apply for driving licenses, participate in training programs, and register for the second phase of the Pink Scooty Scheme.
Sharjeel Memon added that the first phase of the initiative received overwhelming public response, with dozens of women learning to drive, obtaining licenses, and adopting the pink scooties for their daily routines.
He stated that the Sindh government wants as many women as possible to benefit from this facility and to continue their educational and professional pursuits safely and with dignity.
The minister emphasized that the People’s Bus Service, Pink Bus Service, Electric Bus Service, and now the Pink Scooty initiative all aim to provide citizens with affordable, safe, and respectable transport options.
Sharjeel Memon said that empowering women socially and economically is not just a government project but a core part of the Pakistan Peoples Party’s political and humanitarian philosophy.
