The Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Zain Qureshi in the Sangjani rally case. During the hearing, it was also revealed that Zain Qureshi attended an urs (religious gathering) and was absent from court.
Judge Tahir Abbas Supra of the Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court, while hearing the Sangjani rally case against PTI leaders, issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Zain Qureshi and initiated proceedings to declare Omar Ayub and Zartaj Gul as absconders.
Judge Tahir Abbas Supra remarked that Zain Qureshi is attending an urs but not appearing in court. “If he is busy at shrines, it would be better for him to leave politics and start making amulets,” the judge said. During the hearing, the court accepted PTI leader Ali Bukhari’s request for exemption from personal appearance.
It is noteworthy that Zain Qureshi is the son of Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who served as Foreign Minister during the PTI government and is considered the most prominent leader in the party after Imran Khan.
