Lahore: Pakistan defeated South Africa by nine wickets in the second T20 International to level the three-match series 1-1.
Chasing a target of 111 runs, Pakistan reached the total comfortably with just one wicket down.
In the match played at Lahore, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha won the toss and elected to field first.
South Africa’s batting lineup completely collapsed against Pakistan’s fierce bowling attack, as the entire Proteas side was bowled out for 110 runs in the final over.
For this match, Pakistan made one change in their playing XI — Salman Mirza replaced Shaheen Afridi.
South Africa’s Innings:
The South African batters struggled from the very beginning, losing wickets at regular intervals and failing to build partnerships.
Only Dewald Brevis (25) and Donovan Ferreira (15) managed to reach double figures, while Corbin Bosch (11) and Bartman (12) added minor contributions.
From Pakistan, Faheem Ashraf starred with the ball, taking four wickets, while Salman Mirza bagged three. Naseem Shah took two wickets, and Abrar Ahmed claimed one.
Pakistan’s Innings:
Pakistan chased down the 111-run target in just 14 overs, thanks to a blistering innings by Saim Ayub, who scored an unbeaten 71 off 38 balls.
Sahibzada Farhan contributed 28 runs before getting out, while Babar Azam remained not out on 11.
With this emphatic win, Pakistan leveled the T20 series 1-1 against South Africa. The deciding match of the series will be played tomorrow in Lahore.
