The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched online marriage registration at the Union Council level on a limited scale, in an effort to make public services more accessible to citizens.
According to a statement issued by NADRA, marriage registration can now be done through the Pak ID mobile app at the relevant Union Council, after which citizens can download their marriage registration certificate in the app’s ID wallet.
The statement further said that in the initial phase, this facility has been introduced in three districts of the country, which are as follows:

Chakwal – 71 Union Councils

Jhelum – 44 Union Councils

Nankana Sahib – 65 Union Councils
This facility will soon be expanded to all parts of Pakistan in phases, according to the authority.
It is worth mentioning that earlier, NADRA had resolved a major issue faced by citizens who had to visit Union Councils for birth and death registrations.
Taking another revolutionary step towards a Digital Pakistan, NADRA had previously launched online registration for births and deaths on a limited scale for citizens’ convenience.
Now, citizens can avail online registration for births and deaths at their relevant Union Councils from home through NADRA’s Pak ID mobile app. This facility is provided directly by NADRA, allowing citizens to access it from their homes.
