In Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, a foreign man violently assaulted a Thai transgender woman on a public street. However, local residents and bystanders chased and overpowered him, beating him severely — leaving his head injured and bruises across his body.
Reports have not officially confirmed the nationality of the foreign attacker, but several social media posts and local reports claim he was an Israeli national.
The incident took place on Sukhumvit Road, where video footage shows the foreign man pushing and dragging the woman. When other transgender women and nearby citizens tried to intervene, he attempted to flee but was caught and beaten by the crowd.
Thai police have launched an investigation into the incident and are reviewing footage to identify those involved and determine appropriate legal action.
This episode adds to a series of controversial incidents involving Israeli tourists in Thailand this year, which have drawn strong local criticism. Other recent cases include an Israeli woman making offensive remarks at a restaurant and a confrontation involving transgender women in Phuket.
