The Embassy of Russia in Pakistan has officially dismissed as “100% fake” a viral video circulating on social media that falsely depicts President Vladimir Putin issuing threats against Pakistan amid recent Pakistan–Afghanistan tensions.
The misleading clip, shared widely by pro-Afghan and Indian accounts on X, appeared to show Putin warning Pakistan’s military and expressing support for Afghanistan.
However, the embassy clarified that the footage had been dubbed and manipulated, bearing no connection to regional affairs.

According to the Russian Embassy’s statement, the original video actually featured Putin responding to journalists’ questions following a Russian Geographical Society Board of Trustees meeting on October 23, 2025. The president, it added, made no reference to Pakistan or Afghanistan during the event.
Reiterating Moscow’s stance, the embassy emphasized that Russia advocates peaceful, diplomatic engagement to resolve differences between Islamabad and Kabul. It urged both nations—described as “friendly to Russia”—to resume dialogue, particularly in areas of counterterrorism and regional stability.
