Filmmaker Karan Johar today celebrated the nine-year anniversary of his much-loved romantic drama, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil,’ sharing a heartfelt note and never-before-seen pictures from the set on social media.
The movie, which hit the screens on October 28, 2016, starred Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead roles.
Johar took to his platform to reflect on the film’s significance, calling it “perhaps the most personal film I have ever made.”

He shared a series of candid, behind-the-scenes photographs featuring the main cast, giving fans a nostalgic peek into the movie’s making.
“One year short of a decade, and it honestly feels like yesterday when I was on the set of perhaps the most personal film I have ever made,” the director wrote. He extended his gratitude to the cast and crew, adding, “I was thrilled to be doing what I do with people who were just exceptional as artists… My dil will never forget this!!”
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil remains highly popular nine years later, celebrated for its exploration of unrequited love, its memorable characters, and its chart-topping soundtrack.
