Renowned Bollywood producer Dinesh Vijan, through his production house Maddock Films, has always given audiences different and entertaining stories.
From films like 2009’s Love Aaj Kal and 2012’s Cocktail to 2018’s superhit Stree, Dinesh has proved that he was not just making films but a cinematic universe. And when he made Stree with director Amar Kaushik, Bollywood got its first horror-comedy universe—the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU).

Each film had its own unique tone, character, and emotion, yet all remained connected to each other.
Fans were feeling that Stree 3 was going to be released soon, but Dinesh Vijan’s new statement surprised everyone.
In a recent interview, Dinesh Vijan revealed that “Stree 3” will no longer be released in 2026. He explained that he doesn’t want to rush this universe.

According to him, “We’re not releasing ‘Stree 3’ next year. Most people would want to release it immediately, but we don’t. We want to release it thoughtfully and at the right time. Every story has its own journey.”
Dinesh Vijan said that Hollywood producer Chuck Roven, who is associated with Christopher Nolan’s films, had given a piece of advice to Deepika Padukone and Dinesh in 2012.

He had said, “When you make films, put them in a box.” If you want to integrate characters, don’t change the physics.” This thought led Dinesh Vijan to the idea of a “universe”—a place where each film is distinct in its own right, yet feels connected.
‘Stree 3’ was expected to release in 2026, but now it has been postponed. The main reason behind this is that the makers want the story to be well-crafted, emotional, and logical.
