SP Asad Zubair and two other policemen were martyred in two bomb blasts in Hangu, a district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Friday.
According to the police, the terrorists targeted the Ghalmina checkpoint with an explosion. Upon receiving information about the incident, SP Operations Asad Zubair left for the scene with a heavy police contingent.
On the way, a police vehicle was targeted with a bomb blast, as a result of which three personnel, including the SP, were martyred on the spot.
After the incident, security has been tightened in the area, and the police have started search operations to arrest the terrorists.
DSP Amjad Hussain told the media that the Ghalmina checkpoint was vacant at the time of the blast. He said terrorists detonated explosives at the empty checkpost, destroying it. Upon receiving information about the explosion, SP Asad Zubair immediately reached the spot with his team to assess the situation when a second explosive device went off in Baliamina.
