The Anti-Terrorism Court of Rawalpindi ordered the seizure of Aleema Khan’s national identity card and passport after she failed to appear in the court despite an arrest warrant being issued.
The case registered against Aleema Khan and 10 other accused in the November 26 protest was heard in the Anti-Terrorism Court Rawalpindi. The case was heard by Judge Amjad Ali Shah of the Anti-Terrorism Court.
Aleema Khan did not appear in court despite the issuance of a non-bailable arrest warrant, on which the court ordered the seizure of Aleema Khan’s identity card and passport.
The court also ordered the freezing of Aleema Khan’s bank accounts, while NADRA and immigration authorities should issue instructions regarding the seizure of identity cards and passports.
The court also ordered the seizure of the property of Aleema Khan’s guarantor, Omar Sharif. The court remarked that the accused is present everywhere but does not appear in the court.
Special Prosecutor Zaheer Shah appeared in court, while none of Aleema Khan’s lawyers appeared in court.
Apart from Aleema Khan, 10 other accused named in the case appeared in court. The prosecution witnesses were present in the court along with the material evidence.
The court adjourned the further hearing of the case until October 27.
