South Africa’s T20 captain David Miller has been ruled out of the upcoming white-ball series against Pakistan due to injury.
According to Cricket South Africa (CSA), fast bowler Gerald Coetzee has also been sidelined for the same reason. The board announced that Matthew Breetzke and Tony de Zorzi have been added to the T20 squad as replacements.
CSA further confirmed that Donovan Ferreira will captain the Proteas in the T20 International series.
The statement added that Miller underwent a scan on Thursday, which confirmed a hamstring strain. Upon his return home, he will begin a rehabilitation program under the supervision of team medical staff.
The T20I series between Pakistan and South Africa is scheduled to take place from October 28 to November 1. The first match will be played in Rawalpindi on October 28, while the remaining two matches are set for October 31 and November 1 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
Following the T20Is, the two sides will move to Faisalabad for a three-match ODI series, scheduled for November 4, 6, and 8.
