Actress Mariyam Nafees says that disagreements and arguments are a natural part of married life, but she and her husband, Aman Ahmed, follow a unique rule to keep things balanced — they sleep separately on the night of an argument.
Mariyam Nafees shared this insight during her recent appearance on Nida Yasir’s morning show, where she spoke openly about challenges in domestic and married life.
She advised couples to talk through their problems instead of staying silent or ignoring them, saying that communication is key to resolving conflicts.
During the show, health experts explained that during moments of stress or conflict, the body releases higher levels of cortisol, a hormone that can cause people to think more negatively.
Talking about her own experience, Mariyam Nafees said that she and her husband have established a method they both follow.
“Whenever we argue, we sleep in separate rooms that night. It gives both of us time to think and reflect calmly,” she said.
Mariyam Nafees added that this practice allows them to cool down and approach the issue more maturely the next day.
“The next morning, we sit together at breakfast and talk it out. Communication helps us move past disagreements peacefully,” she explained.
She further said that this has become a routine for them and helps prevent small issues from escalating into bigger problems.
Mariyam Nafees married director Aman Ahmed in March 2022, and three years later, in March 2025, the couple welcomed their first child, a son named Eesa.
The couple has appeared together on various television programs, often discussing how mutual understanding and open dialogue help them maintain a strong and healthy relationship.
