Pakistani actor and content creator Khaqan Shahnawaz has criticized singer Atif Aslam for allegedly copying the content of smaller creators on social media without giving them credit.
During an appearance on the Pakiavellian podcast, Shahnawaz expressed his disappointment with Aslam’s recent social media activity, stating that the content is not original and is a “frame-by-frame” copy of others’ work.
He noted that while fans enjoy the playful, humorous videos marking Aslam’s new “Gen Z era” online, it is important to acknowledge the original sources out of decency.

Shahnawaz claimed Aslam “doesn’t create; he copies.”
He stressed that Aslam should at least mention or tag the original, often lesser-known, creators whose ideas he uses.
As a content creator himself, Shahnawaz highlighted the professional courtesy required in the digital media space.
The comments have sparked debate online, with Atif Aslam’s fans largely defending the singer and arguing that the type of trendy, viral content he is posting is commonly shared and recreated by many people across social media platforms without explicit credit. Atif Aslam has not yet publicly responded to the criticism.
