The show has received both praise and criticism, leading to the user’s specific comment that the “wonderful ‘Biryani'” has become a “stale ‘Khichdi'” (a simple, mixed rice and lentil dish), implying a disappointing and dull turn in the narrative.
The drama, which airs on ARY Digital, starts with a seemingly straightforward premise: Nisa (Ramsha Khan), a driven university senior from a humble background, is tasked with mentoring Meeran (Khushhal Khan), a freshman from a wealthy, conservative, feudal background.
However, the plot takes a sharp turn when it is revealed that Meeran is already married to Gul Meher (Sarwat Gilani). This twist, which some fans found inconsistent with earlier characterizations and timelines, led to social media buzz and criticism of Meeran for leading Nisa on without revealing his marital status.
Viewers have complained that the plot has become repetitive, with Nisa and Meeran’s interactions devolving into a back-and-forth cycle of conflict and reconciliation (“Nisa, Meeran, tum dafa ho jao!” followed by “Meeran, tum ghar aa jao”).
