The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Tuesday continued its winning streak as the benchmark KSE-100 Index gained over 1,100 points.
At close, the benchmark index settled at 167,346.83, an increase of 1,103.93 points or 0.66%.
The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) kicked off the week with strong bullish momentum as investor sentiment soared following a landmark diplomatic breakthrough between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The KSE-100 Index surged by 2,436.69 points, or 1.49%, to close at 166,242.90.
Buying interest was observed across major sectors, including automobile assemblers, commercial banks, fertilizers, oil and gas exploration companies, OMCs, power generation, and refineries. Index-heavy stocks such as Attock Refinery (ARL), Hub Power (HUBCO), Mari Petroleum (MARI), Pakistan Oilfields (POL), Pakistan Petroleum (PPL), Pakistan State Oil (PSO), MCB Bank, and National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) all closed in the green.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani rupee showed slight improvement against the US dollar, appreciating by 0.06% in early trading on Tuesday. By 10:15 AM, the local currency was trading at 280.90, up Re0.17 in the inter-bank market.
