According to an official notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, these holidays will apply to all Hindu employees serving in government and semi-government institutions, including schools, colleges, universities, and local councils across the province.
With Sunday, October 19, already being a weekly holiday, Hindu employees in Sindh will enjoy a three-day break — from October 19 to 21 — to celebrate Diwali with their families and loved ones.
At present, Sindh is the only province to have officially declared holidays for Diwali, though similar announcements from the federal government and other provinces are anticipated soon, enabling the Hindu community across Pakistan to celebrate the festival nationwide.
