Actress Hema Malini has expressed deep sorrow and devastation over the passing of her “very dear friend,” veteran actor Pankaj Dheer.
Dheer passed away on October 15, 2025, at the age of 68, after a prolonged battle with cancer.

In a tribute posted on social media, Hema Malini shared old photos of the two together and reflected on his kind and supportive nature.
She wrote that she was “totally devastated” by the news of his death. She remembered him as a talented actor, full of life and enthusiasm, who won audiences’ hearts with his portrayal of Karna in the television series Mahabharat.

Malini recalled Dheer being a constant source of support and encouragement throughout their friendship.
She extended her condolences to Dheer’s wife, Anita, referring to her as the “light of his life.”
Hema Malini also attended Pankaj Dheer’s funeral in Mumbai, where she paid her final respects alongside other industry colleagues.
Her daughter, Esha Deol, also mourned the loss of the “dear family friend,” recalling their fun conversations and his joyful nature.
