At least 15 people, including women and children, were killed while several others were injured when a truck plunged into a ravine in Malakand on Thursday.
As per media reports, the tragic incident happened at the Swat-Malakand Expressway when the truck carrying nomadic families of ourturend and then plunged into the ravine due to overspeeding.
Soon after the accident, the local authority, with the help of local people, started the rescue and relief operation and shifted the injured to the Batkhela Hospital. At the same time, dead bodies were also moved there.
According to rescue personnel, the death toll is feared to go up as four out of the 8 injured were in critical condition.
As per the Deputy Commissioner, Muhammad Fayaz, the majority of the dead are children.
