Senior Pakistani politician and former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry has praised the police action taken against the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), congratulating the authorities on their handling of the situation.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, he wrote:
“Authorities deserve to be congratulated for the police action against TLP. The way the state asserted its authority was essential. However, it is also necessary for the government to present the arrests of all accused, including Saad Rizvi, and ensure that the law is upheld.”
The former PTI leader further stated that it is not the job of the state to forcibly disappear individuals. He emphasized that the government must respect the law so that it can rightfully expect its citizens to do the same.
“What’s important is that no citizen becomes a target of torture. They should be presented in court and granted their legal rights,” he added.
