Indian actor Jimmy Shergill’s father, Satyajit Singh Shergill, passed away on October 11, 2025, at the age of 90.
His final funeral was held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Gurudwara Dhan Pothohar Nagar in Santacruz West, Mumbai.
Jimmy Sheirgill is an actor and producer who primarily works in Hindi and Punjabi films. He began his acting career in 1996 with the film Maachis but gained widespread recognition for his role in the 2000 romantic drama Mohabbatein.

His father, Satyajit Singh, was an artist and a painter. He was the great-nephew of the renowned Hungarian-Indian painter Amrita Sher-Gil.
He came from a Punjabi Sikh aristocratic family in Uttar Pradesh.

Jimmy Shergill previously revealed that he and his father had a strained relationship for a time after Jimmy cut his hair and removed his turban during his teenage years.
However, they reconciled after about a year and a half.
