LAHORE: The captains of Pakistan and South Africa, Shan Masood and Aiden Markram, unveiled the Test series trophy during a ceremony held at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) on Friday.
During the event, Aiden Markram also visited the NCA Museum, where Shan Masood briefed him on Pakistan cricket’s historic achievements and trophies on display.
The first Test match between Pakistan and South Africa will begin tomorrow (October 12) at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, and will continue until October 16. Both sides have completed their training sessions and are fully prepared for the contest.
According to team management sources, Pakistan may field two regular fast bowlers and two spinners for the opening Test. Interim head coach Azhar Mahmood is said to be impressed with spinner Asif Afridi and is reportedly considering handing him a Test debut.
The probable playing XI for Pakistan includes Abdullah Shafiq, Imam-ul-Haq, Shan Masood, Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Ali Agha, Sajid Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Noman Ali, and Khurram Shahzad.
