A female student at the University of Karachi (KU), Anika Saeed, was fatally struck by a KU point bus on Friday morning near the Mahmood Hussain Library, according to Pakistani TV channels.
According to the reports, Anika Saeed, a student from the Department of Social Work (Shaoba Samaji Behbood), had just gotten off the point bus at the back gate.

The incident took place at around 9:15 AM on the University of Karachi campus.
Witnesses confirmed that the accident occurred right in front of the Mahmood Hussain Library, the bus began reversing, and the vehicle’s back wheels ran over her.
The student was taken to a nearby hospital immediately after the incident. However, she succumbed to her injuries on the way.

The University of Karachi administration and campus security rushed to the site as soon as the news broke.
Law enforcement officials have launched an investigation into the KU Point bus accident.
The driver of the university bus is being questioned, and authorities have stated that further legal action will follow based on findings from the initial inquiry.
The student death at KU has again brought up the issue of transport safety on campus and the security of university vehicles.
