Thirty terrorists belonging to a major organization allegedly supported from abroad, involved in the severe attacks that took place in Orakzai on October 7 and 8, have been killed in an operation by the Pakistan Army.
In these attacks, eleven personnel of the Pakistan Armed Forces, including Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Tariq and Major Tayyab Rahat, were martyred. According to the relevant security officials, the killed terrorists belonged to a network called Fitna al-Khawarij, which was attempting to destabilize the region by targeting forces and civilians.
According to the statement issued by the ISPR, the enemy suffered heavy losses during this operation, and their network’s activities in the region have been significantly disrupted.
Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Tariq (age 39, resident of District Rawalpindi) embraced martyrdom while leading his troops with bravery, while his assistant Major Tayyab Rahat (age 33, resident of District Rawalpindi) also laid down his life with the same determination and courage.
The names and districts of the nine brave soldiers martyred are as follows:
- Naib Subedar Azam Gul (age 38, District Khyber)
- Naik Adil Hussain (age 35, District Kurram)
- Naik Gul Ameer (age 34, District Tank)
- Lance Naik Sher Khan (age 31, District Mardan)
- Lance Naik Talish Faraz (age 32, District Mansehra)
- Lance Naik Arshad Hussain (age 32, District Kurram)
- Sepoy Tufail Khan (age 28, District Malakand)
- Sepoy Aqeeq Ali (age 23, District Swabi)
- Sepoy Muhammad Zahid (age 24, District Tank)
Security officials reiterated their resolve that the security forces will continue their struggle until terrorism is completely eradicated from every corner of the country, and this operation has been termed an important step toward regional peace.
