RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Army on Wednesday expressed serious concern over what it termed “irresponsible and provocative statements” from the Indian civil and military leadership, warning that any aggression from New Delhi would be met with a “swift and decisive response.”
The statement followed the 272nd Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, chaired by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS).
The forum observed that India’s rhetoric reflected a “propensity for whipping up war hysteria for political benefits,” and cautioned that such warmongering would only “endanger regional peace and stability.”
Reaffirming the Pakistan Army’s operational readiness, the commanders vowed to “shatter any perceived notion of India’s relative safety accruing from geography,” adding that “any imaginary new normal will be met with a new normal of swift retributive response.”
The meeting also reiterated the military’s commitment to dismantling what it described as “Indian-sponsored terror networks,” including Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan.
The session began with Fateha for the martyrs of recent terrorist attacks “orchestrated by Indian terror proxies.”
COAS Asim Munir lauded the spirit, resolve, and professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces in combating terrorism and assisting in relief and rescue operations during the recent floods, in coordination with civil administration and law enforcement agencies.
The conference undertook a comprehensive review of ongoing counterterrorism operations, emerging threats, and overall operational preparedness.
The forum reaffirmed that Pakistan’s armed forces remain “fully prepared to thwart any inimical designs” of the country’s adversaries across all domains — military, cyber, or informational.
