Drug Court Rawalpindi hands down strict punishment to owner of Badshah Di Hatti for manufacturing and selling unregistered drugs
Rawalpindi: The Drug Court Rawalpindi has sentenced Abdul Razzaq, owner of Badshah Di Hatti, to eight years and three months in prison along with a fine of Rs26 million for manufacturing and selling fake and unregistered medicines.
According to court details, Razzaq received five years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs1 million for illegally manufacturing drugs, and three years’ imprisonment with a fine of Rs25 million for selling unregistered medicines.
The court also ruled that in case of non-payment of the fine, the convict will serve an additional 24 months in prison.
The verdict was announced by Muhammad Faisal Butt, Chairman of the Drug Court Rawalpindi Division, following the conclusion of legal proceedings.
After the sentencing, Abdul Razzaq was transferred to Adiala Jail to serve his term.
The judgment reflects the court’s strict stance against the illegal drug trade, which poses serious risks to public health and safety.
