Two people were killed in a shooting incident near Haji Khwasti Goth on Hub River Road in Mochko, reportedly triggered by a dispute over land plots.
According to police, the gunfire was opened by a suspect named Rafi and his accomplices, who arrived on motorcycles. The suspects fled the scene immediately after the incident.
Details reveal that two individuals sustained critical injuries during the shooting and were being transported to Civil Hospital by a Chhipa ambulance, but both succumbed to their injuries on the way. The deceased were identified as 50-year-old Javed Abbasi, son of Kalu Khan, and 45-year-old Shahid, son of Saeed Khan.
Upon receiving information, police reached the scene and summoned the Crime Scene Unit to collect forensic evidence.
According to Mochko SHO Faisal Latif, the shooting stemmed from an ongoing property dispute. He confirmed that the suspect Rafi, along with his motorcycle-riding associates, opened fire. At the time, Javed Abbasi and Shahid were sitting at a street corner when the attackers arrived and began firing.
The police officer added that the assailants also fired at Javed Abbasi’s son, who fortunately escaped unhurt and managed to flee into a nearby alley. The suspects then fled the scene.
Following the incident, police conducted a raid on the suspect’s residence, but found the house abandoned. SHO Latif said that further investigations are underway and efforts are being made to arrest all those involved in the shooting.
