THESE nursing colleges declared fake in Pakistan

The Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council (PNMC) has published a list of 38 fake nursing colleges on its official website. The list includes 5 institutions in Islamabad, 25 in Punjab, 5 in Sindh, and 2 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Council has issued an advisory for students and parents, warning that degrees from unregistered and fake institutions will not be recognized under any circumstances.

According to reports, the President of Pakistan has issued an ordinance for the reconstitution of the Nursing Council, due to which the process of college registration and inspection has stalled.

Meanwhile, the country is facing a severe shortage of qualified nurses. Although 755 institutions are currently registered with the Nursing Council, officials acknowledge that they are not producing qualified nurses in the required numbers or quality.

The PNMC has named the following fake institutions on its website:

 Islamabad

1. Capital College of Nursing and Medical Health
2. Edward College of Nursing
3. National Institute of Modern Languages and Sciences
4. The Institute of Health Sciences
5. Unique Technical and Professional College

These institutions have been declared fake due to affiliation with unauthorized councils.

 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

1. Mardan College of Nursing
2. The Orbit College of Nursing and Allied Sciences, Swabi

 Sindh

1. Aman Institute of Health Sciences and Nursing (Karachi)
2. Media Aid School of Nursing (Karachi)
3. Pray Institute of Nursing and Health Sciences (Karachi)
4. Hyderabad College of Nursing (Hyderabad)
5. Kainat Institute of Nursing, Khairpur

 Punjab

1. Midcare College of Nursing (Attock)
2. Halal Nursing and Midwifery School (Faisalabad)
3. Professional Studies Institute of Nursing (Faisalabad)
4. Professional College of Nursing (Gujranwala)
5. Punjab Nursing Academy (Jhang)
6. Boston International College of Nursing (Lahore)
7. Muhammadan College of Nursing (Lahore)
8. Quaid-e-Azam Institute of Medical Sciences (Lahore)
9. Brilliant Institute of Sciences and Technology (Rawalpindi)
10. City Institute of Medical Sciences (Rawalpindi)
11. EDU Zone Education of Knowledge (Rawalpindi)
12. Falahi Institute of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (Rawalpindi)
13. Institute of Professional and Technical Studies (Rawalpindi)
14. Marha Institute of Medical Sciences (Rawalpindi)
15. Pearl Institute (Rawalpindi)
16. Sadozai Institute of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (Rawalpindi)

Sources revealed that many of these colleges have continued admissions despite repeated advisories and public notices issued by the Nursing Council, blatantly ignoring regulatory warnings.
