US President Donald Trump had a pleasant and informal meeting with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the conclusion of the Arab-Islamic Summit.
According to details, during the meeting of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the US President, both leaders conversed in a friendly atmosphere and shook hands, with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar also present in the meeting.
In a report, citing sources, it has been claimed that a one-on-one meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Trump on 25th September is also under consideration, in which detailed discussions on important global and regional matters are expected.
Meanwhile, during the United Nations General Assembly session, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in an exclusive interview with a private news channel, said that the US President is taking serious steps for the establishment of global peace.
He said that important points were included in President Trump’s speech and that he has also played a key role in reducing Pakistan-India tensions.
The Prime Minister reiterated his determination that Pakistan will extend every possible cooperation for the promotion of peace and stability in the region, and will remain active in seeking sustainable solutions to problems in collaboration with the international community.
It is noteworthy that during Joe Biden’s era, relations between the Pakistani Prime Minister and the US government remained stagnant; however, after changes in governments in both countries, these relations are entering a new phase.
Neutrality has been a prominent element in Pakistan’s foreign policy, and with time, Pakistan’s relations with China have also deepened, but now pleasant relations with the United States are also coming to the fore.
