A report has been issued on the damages caused by floods in the rivers of Punjab. Punjab Relief Commissioner said that 27 districts of Punjab were affected by the floods.
According to details, Relief Commissioner Punjab Nabeel Javed’s report stated that due to the recent floods, more than 4,700 villages of the province were affected. The flood situation affected over 4.7 million people.
The Relief Commissioner said that 271 relief camps were established in the flood-affected districts, where citizens are being provided food and all basic facilities. In the affected districts, 300 medical camps were also set up.
Nabeel Javed said that 2.638 million people trapped in the floods were shifted to safe locations. To provide medical facilities for livestock, 283 veterinary camps were established. A total of 2.117 million animals were shifted to safe places.
The Relief Commissioner’s report stated that in various incidents caused by the recent floods, 134 citizens lost their lives while 13 were injured. According to the instructions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, compensation for the losses will be ensured. A survey to assess the damages will begin on September 24.
