The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) bounced back on Tuesday, recovering from a nearly 500-point drop in the previous session.
The benchmark KSE-100 Index rose by 390.36 points, or 0.25%, to close at 157,945.02.
Investor interest returned to key sectors such as automobiles, cement, commercial banks, oil and gas exploration, oil marketing companies (OMCs), and power generation.
Prominent stocks including HUBCO, MARI, OGDC, POL, PPL, PSO, MCB, MEBL, and UBL closed in the green, supporting the index’s recovery.
On Monday, the market had ended in the red as investors engaged in profit-taking following a strong rally last week. The KSE-100 Index fell by 482.71 points, or 0.31%, settling at 157,554.66.
Meanwhile in currency market, the Pakistani rupee maintained its positive momentum against the US dollar, appreciating 0.09% during the opening hours of trading in the inter-bank. At 10:30am, the rupee was hovering at 281.20, a gain of Re0.25 against the greenback.
