The intense Spanish-language drama, produced by Money Heist geniuses Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato, has well on its way to become the popular streaming giant’s latest international hit. Launched on September 19, 2025, the drama soon gained traction with viewers, becoming part of the platform’s Top 10 across several regions.
Against the background of global nuclear annihilation, the eight-episode first season provides high-stakes drama, lies, and betrayal all wrapped in an underground luxury bunker that caters to the world’s elite survivors.
Plot
While the world hangs in the balance on the precipice of nuclear devastation, a single billionaire orchestrates a heart-stopping prison break to liberate his son. Freedom, however, has its price—he and his whole family are now on the run to find refuge in an lavish underground bunker designed to survive humanity’s downfall.
There begins the drama, as they are among other mega-rich elites who have bought their way to staying alive. But as the doors close, fissures emerge, not in the bunker, but between the families. Past resentments, hidden truths, and cunning agendas soon come to light, transforming this purported safe house into a psychological battle zone.

In spite of the chilling realism of the premise, Billionaires’ Bunker is purely fictional. But its depiction of doomsday prepping among the international elite takes its cue from very real news headlines, echoing recent accounts of billionaires constructing underground bunkers in far-flung parts of the globe.
