President Asif Ali Zardari, during his visit to China, traveled on a high-speed train equipped with an earthquake warning system, and declared it a masterpiece.
According to details, President Asif Zardari traveled from Chengdu to Mianyang in half an hour on a high-speed train equipped with an earthquake warning system in China. During the journey, he was briefed on the train’s operation, service, and safety systems.
Reports state that China has the world’s largest high-speed rail network, consisting of 45,000 kilometers of track, and more than two billion passengers travel annually on this network.
China’s trains run at speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour. China has established a standardized and uniform network which is an example of modern connectivity. President Zardari described the pollution-free electric train and the earthquake warning system as a masterpiece of engineering. The President said that China’s innovation is a lesson for Pakistan as well as for other countries.
On this occasion, Pakistani Ambassador Khalil Hashmi, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, and Senator Saleem Mandviwalla also accompanied the President. Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong is accompanying the President throughout the visit, while upon arrival in Mianyang, Vice Mayor Wu Hao welcomed the President.
