The Punjab government has introduced Pakistan’s first emergency airlift drone service to rescue people trapped in natural disasters, especially floods.

According to the Punjab Home Department, this modern drone is capable of lifting up to 200 kilograms and moving any person to a safe place.

This technology has been developed to make rescue operations faster and more effective during natural disasters. The Home Secretary directed that the drone be immediately sent to Multan, where many people are trapped in floodwaters.

Before sending it to South Punjab, the Civil Defense completed successful test flights of the drone in Lahore. Officials confirmed that the drone is fully functional and ready for immediate use in any emergency.

The Home Secretary of Punjab announced that 10 more drones will be purchased for the Civil Defense to ensure timely rescue and relief operations in natural disasters or emergencies.

The Home Secretary praised the Civil Defense personnel and volunteers for their bravery and determination to save human lives.

He said that the Punjab Civil Defense Resilience Corps is being established, which will be developed on modern lines to increase rescue capabilities.

The process of registering volunteers has already started, and in just one week, more than 4,000 people registered to help the flood victims.

According to officials, citizens can become volunteers through an online portal and serve according to their capacity.

Registered personnel and volunteers will be provided with international standard training and modern equipment so that rescue operations can be carried out more effectively.

The Home Secretary emphasized that with the use of modern technology, especially airlift drones, Punjab’s Civil Defense is being made in line with the standards of developed countries.
