The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Tuesday warned that there is a risk of urban flooding across Karachi, as rains lashed the port city and are forecast to continue tomorrow.
The spell of rain continues since early morning in various areas of Karachi, including Federal B Area, Liaquatabad, Teen Hatti, Numaish Chowrangi, Bahadurabad, Tariq Road, I.I. Chundrigar Road, Saddar, M.A. Jinnah Road, University Road, Lasbela, Gurumandir, and areas around Stadium Road.
In addition, rain is also ongoing in Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Steel Town, Shah Latif Town, Bhains Colony, as well as National Highway, Malir Memon Goth, Gadap, New Karachi, Orangi Town, Surjani, Taiser Town, Khuda Ki Basti, Gulshan-e-Maymar, Super Highway Scheme 33, Meteorological Department, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, and Gulistan-e-Jauhar.
According to the Meteorological Department, this spell of light to heavy rain is expected to continue until tomorrow.
The Met Office has warned that the weather system passing near Karachi today could bring more than 100 mm of rain.
Furthermore, due to ongoing rains, the department has also indicated the risk of urban flooding in Karachi.
The department reported that 9.3 mm of rain has been recorded in Karachi from 11:00 a.m. yesterday to 8:00 a.m. today.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a rain alert for the next 12 to 24 hours in Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan.
Rain is expected in various areas of Punjab, including Gujranwala, Sialkot, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Sargodha. Heavy thunderstorms are likely in Multan and southern Punjab, raising the risk of flooding and landslides.
According to NDMA, southern districts of Sindh — including Thatta, Badin, Hyderabad, and Karachi — may experience torrential rains, while light rain is expected in upper Sindh.
