Swabi police have arrested a TikToker who was impersonating a girl and making proactive videos that allegedly misled young people.
DSP Ijaz Abazai and Swabi City Police Station SHO Saeed Al-Amin said on Sunday that TikToker Abdul Muiz had been sharing inappropriate videos on social media while posing as a girl in various controversial ways, which was causing widespread outrage and discomfort in society.
They further explained that Aamir Khan, in-charge of the Bamkhel police post, traced the TikToker, and police quickly acted to arrest Abdul Muiz, a resident of Bamkhel.
An FIR has been registered against the TikToker at the Swabi City Police Station, saying that police received reports of a mischievous young man posting vulgar content on social media that was having a deeply negative impact on society. The police responded and arrested him.
Following his arrest, the accused confessed to the offense and pledged not to engage in such immoral activities again.
In a video statement released by the police, the TikToker said:
“My name is Abdul Muiz, I am a resident of Jaffar Khel locality in Bamkhel village. I was making videos and uploading them to my TikTok account. I will no longer make such videos.”
SHO Saeed Al-Amin added that Abdul Muiz has been presented in the local court and will now face legal proceedings under the laws of the country.
