In a shocking development in the case involving social media influencer Samiya Hijab, accused Hassan Zahid has made startling revelations while in police custody. The dispute, rooted in financial and personal conflicts, has exposed a tangled web of allegations including threats, violence, and illicit activities, according to sources.
Authorities continue their investigation as both parties present conflicting accounts of the events leading up to the incident.
It is worth mentioning that Samiya Hijab has recently filed a case against her former fiancé for abduction and death threats.
Sources say that Samiya Hijab is originally from Chakwal and, a few years ago, was living in a girls’ hostel on Six Road in Rawalpindi, where she started working in small advertisements for various hookah cafes. Later, she moved to Sector E-11 in Islamabad and has been residing for several years in rented houses with her mother and younger brother.
The accused Hassan Zahid, a resident of Lahore involved in the buying and selling of vehicles, established a relationship with Samiya Hijab about eight months ago.
He has alleged that he personally paid the rent of one and a half lakh rupees per month for Samiya’s current house and also provided a new model black Honda Civic on rent for one hundred and twenty-five thousand rupees per month. According to Hassan Zahid, he not only paid for the house expenses and utility bills but also purchased cocaine worth millions of rupees for her.
According to the accused, he was living with Samiya and her family while also renting a separate flat in E-11. Sources say that Samiya often kept his business cash with her.
The incident began with a quarrel after Samiya saw a message from another person on her mobile phone. The accused admitted that he physically assaulted Samiya multiple times during this period. A few days before the incident, both had also stayed at Serena Hotel, for which Hassan Zahid paid a rent of one and a half lakh rupees.
Sources revealed that on the day of the incident, Hassan Zahid demanded Rs 5 million from Samiya, which he claimed was money given for buying a car. However, Samiya refused to return the money. A heated argument ensued, during which Samiya tried to snatch his mobile phone, leading to a scuffle between them. Later, Samiya uploaded a video on social media expressing fear for her life and sought police protection.
The police took immediate action, registered a case against the accused, and arrested him after raids. Hassan Zahid is currently in police custody on physical remand.
On the other hand, Samiya Hijab has claimed that Hassan Zahid is a fraudster, and his vehicle business is just a front with no stable source of income. FIRs have already been registered against him. According to Samiya, he was living off her money for several months, pressuring her for marriage, and threatening to kill or abduct her when she refused.
Police said the investigation is ongoing, and further details will emerge once the inquiry is complete.
