Punjab is currently reeling from heavy rains and flood disasters, where people in the affected areas are waiting for basic facilities and assistance. At such a critical time, a video of PML-N Punjab Assembly Member Muhammad Saqib Khan Chadhar has gone viral on social media in which he is seen wearing perfume before meeting flood victims. Social media users have expressed extreme anger and outrage over this act, calling it a shameful act.
After the video went public, questions are being raised in the public reaction as to whether public representatives should show off and adopt a showy style at such a time or take practical steps to genuinely help the victims. Many users wrote that the victims do not need perfume but food, medicine ,and safe shelters.
It may be recalled that Muhammad Saqib Khan Chadhar was elected as an independent candidate from PP-97 (Chiniot-4) of the Provincial Assembly in the 2024 general elections and later joined the Pakistan Muslim League (N).

He defeated the former members of the assembly by securing 42,959 votes. On February 11, 2024, he, along with other independent members, officially joined the (N) League after meeting Shahbaz Sharif.
The socio-political circles are currently divided on this issue. On one hand, there is public anger, while on the other hand, some supporters are presenting the position that the video is being presented out of context. However, this video is currently a topic of discussion across the country, and the member of the assembly is facing severe criticism.
