The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the murder of Ameer Balaj Tipu has made significant revelations regarding the planning of the killing.
According to details, the JIT report has held Gogi Butt responsible for orchestrating the murder, marking a major development in the case.
A report citing sources stated that the report revealed that Gogi Butt planned the killing and remained in constant contact with the prime suspect, Taifi Butt.
The report further noted that Gogi Butt had previously been nominated in murder cases involving the Tipu family and fled the scene following Ameer Balaj’s assassination.
The JIT disclosed that at the next hearing, it would request the court to cancel Gogi Butt’s bail. Meanwhile, the prime suspect, Taifi Butt, remains a proclaimed offender in the case.
It may be recalled that Ameer Balaj Tipu was attending the wedding of former DSP Akbar Iqbal’s son at a private housing society near Thokar Niaz Baig when an armed assailant opened fire. Three people, including Tipu, sustained injuries and were rushed to hospital, where Tipu later succumbed to his wounds.
Subsequent police investigations revealed that Tipu’s friend, Ahsan Shah, was also involved in the murder. Shah, along with another suspect, was later arrested.
