The Institute for Public Opinion Research (IPOR) has released its latest survey report, which states that WhatsApp is the most used social media platform in Pakistan.
According to the report, WhatsApp is leading in narrative-building on social media with 27% usage, followed by Facebook at 19%, YouTube at 18%, TikTok at 17%, and Instagram at 10%, while X (formerly Twitter) is the least used with only 2%.
IPOR states that 65% of Pakistanis accept online news without verification, while only 22% of users verify news. According to 43% of users, Facebook is the biggest source of fake news.
The report mentions that 68% of people believe social media has not influenced their views, while one in five people in Pakistan has changed their opinion due to social media news.
