The Afghanistan cricket team is being declared the favorite in the tri-nation T20 series starting tomorrow in Sharjah.
According to the American news agency Associated Press, the tri-nation T20 series in Sharjah is starting from August 29 (Friday), in which Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the host United Arab Emirates will participate. This series is considered an important preparation for the Asia Cup scheduled for next month.
Last year, Afghanistan proved its capabilities by reaching the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup, after which cricket experts declared the Afghanistan team, led by Rashid Khan as the favorite this time.
During the series, seven matches will be played in 10 days at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, where each team will compete against each other twice, while the top two teams will play the final on September 7.
Immediately after which the Asia Cup is going to start in the United Arab Emirates, which will be played in the T20 format, the event will start from September 9.
Afghanistan’s spin attack:
The slow pitches of Sharjah are considered a big advantage for Afghanistan. The Afghan team has added 5 spinners to the squad, including young AM Ghaznafar. Rashid Khan and Mujeeb-ur-Rehman have made a great record in Sharjah, both of whom have taken a total of 43 wickets.
