In the outskirts of Sargodha, the police have arrested a suspect, after an alleged shootout, who had cut his wife’s leg over a minor domestic dispute.
According to media reports, the suspect has been identified as Mazhar, who during a domestic conflict tied up his 22-year-old wife, Iqra Bibi, and cut her leg with a meat-cutting tool before fleeing the scene.
The woman was transferred to Dr. Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital with the help of Rescue 1122, where her condition is reported as critical.
Upon receiving information, a large contingent of police launched a search operation to arrest the suspect. According to the police, Mazhar, along with his accomplices, opened fire on the police party near Sargodha Chak 75 South.
However, during the search operation, he was arrested after being injured by gunfire from his own accomplices. The police have registered a case regarding the incident, while the search for the suspect’s accomplices continues.
Investigation into the case of the woman’s leg being cut is ongoing following the suspect’s arrest.
