In Karachi’s Orangi Town, Sector 11½, a water tanker ran over a 7-year-old child. As a result of the incident, fear and panic spread in the area, as reported by national media on Saturday.
According to details, Arsalan, a 7-year-old resident of Orangi Town Sector 11½, was sitting outside his house waiting for his mother when a speeding water tanker passing through the street ran over him.
Due to being crushed by the tanker, young Arsalan died on the spot. Deceased Arsalan’s mother works as a housemaid, while his father is addicted to drugs.
Local residents said that Arsalan was the third among three siblings. The residents also protested against the incident. The driver involved in running over the minor child fled, while the police took the tanker into custody.
Officials said that investigation regarding the incident is underway. Strict action will be taken against running over the 7-year-old child.
