On the occasion of Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has conferred high national awards on prominent political figures in recognition of their services to the country.
According to details, in a ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Thursday, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif distributed the awards. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal, and Prime Minister’s Adviser Rana Sanaullah were awarded the Nishan-e-Imtiaz.
Other political personalities awarded by President Asif Ali Zardari include Syed Tariq Fatemi, Senator Sherry Rehman, Senator Syed Faisal Ali Subzwari, Senator Bushra Anjum, Hina Rabbani Khar, Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan, and Umar Farooq, who were honoured with the Hilal-e-Imtiaz.
Similarly, Federal Ministers Musadik Malik and Ahad Cheema, Prime Minister’s Adviser Dr. Syed Tauqir Hussain Shah, former ambassador Jalil Abbas Jilani, Ambassador-at-Large for Economic Diplomacy Umar Farooq, former Foreign Secretary Ambassador Tehmina Janjua, Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan, and Director General IB Fawad Asadullah Khan were also conferred with the Hilal-e-Imtiaz.
The President, along with other top government officials, paid tribute and extended congratulations to those honoured for their outstanding services to the country in the political arena.
