Aerial firing on the occasion of Independence Day in Karachi turned celebrations into mourning. As a result of firing incidents in different areas, three people, including an eight-year-old girl and an elderly man, were killed, while 82 people, including 24 women, were injured.
According to details, the deceased and injured were immediately shifted to various hospitals, while police arrested 20 suspects involved in the aerial firing. Rescue officials state that in Azizabad, an eight-year-old girl named Marha was outside her home when she was hit by a stray bullet and died on the spot.
In Lyari, on Agha Taj Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Road, an elderly citizen named Jumma Khan was also struck by a stray bullet, resulting in his death.

In Korangi 3½, a man named Stephen was hit by a bullet fired from an unknown direction, which proved fatal. Among those injured by aerial firing are six boys, one girl, and twenty-four women.
The firing incidents occurred in Lyari, Orangi Town, Nazimabad, Liaquatabad, Sharifabad, Sohrab Goth, Korangi, Malir, and other areas.
Police stated that deadly aerial firing in the name of celebrations will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and strict action is being taken against the arrested suspects.
