The ongoing spell of monsoon rains has brought pleasant weather to various cities across Pakistan, with clouds and showers reported in multiple regions.
According to details, light rain and drizzle early Tuesday morning turned Lahore’s weather pleasant, while thick clouds hovered over Karachi and Islamabad. Cool morning breezes in the federal capital lifted the spirits of residents.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast rainfall accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms at scattered places in Islamabad, the Potohar region, northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and adjoining hilly areas.
In Punjab, cities including Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Jhelum, Lahore, Chakwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Kasur, Sheikhupura, and Hafizabad are expected to receive rain at isolated spots.
Rain is also likely in parts of Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Battagram, Haripur, Nowshera, Mansehra, Abbottabad, and adjoining areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In Balochistan, Khuzdar, Zhob, Musakhel, and nearby areas may experience showers with thunder.
Karachi and other coastal areas of Sindh are likely to receive rainfall, while Gilgit-Baltistan will remain warm with partly cloudy skies. Azad Kashmir is also expected to witness rain accompanied by strong winds and thunder.
The PMD added that the seventh spell of monsoon rains will begin on August 13, raising concerns about a potential rise in river water levels in Punjab.
